AN EXCITING EXPERIENCE IN FLORIDA By Alain Deschamps A few lines to tell what I did during my vacation in March in Florida. I have been water skiing for only a few years. The last time I skied down south was with my godson, Alexandre, who acted as a spotter. This time, I decided to meet up with friends in Fort Lauderdale. I spent the week trying to improve my slalom skiing. I had a great time and will never forget the individualized coaching I received. Many thanks to veteran skier Arthur McLaughlin, for his very practical comments; his son, Norman, for his advice and correctional points based on the video tape, and especially to Patrice Larose, a tireless skier who, with the help of Ann McGinnis, tested me at the end of the week. I am proud of the fact that I successfully obtained the OBrien Water Ski Skill Silver Award in recreational slalom. These individuals really helped me to achieve this personal improvement. With them, I have been through an exciting water ski experience!
