LLEWELLYN UP TO OLD TRICKS For Immediate Release March 3,1996 Jaret Llewellyn ( Innisfail, Alberta ) got the 1996 water ski season off to a great start at the OZ SKI tournament in Myuna Bay, Australia. Llewellyn, a 3 event skier, won the tricks event ( 10,270 pts. ), finished second in jump (203 feet ) and placed eighth in slalom. Canadian teammate Jim Clunie (Tisdale, Alberta ) finished fourth in jump ( 193 feet ). In the tricks Llewellyn bested World overall champion Patrice Martin ( France ) who finished second ( 10,000 pts. ) and Ryan Green ( Australia ) who was third (9,000 pts. ). The jump final featured a tough international field highlighted by a number of skiers from the recently formed H2O Pro jumpers group. The jumpers put on quite a show in less than ideal conditions with Bruce Neville (Australia ) launching a 205 foot jump to take the title. Third place went to Andre Alessi ( Italy ) at 194 feet. Next stops for Llewellyn and Clunie are the Moomba World Cup Jump and the Moomba Masters in Melbourne, Australia. The dates are March 9-11. For more information: Hugh Mitchener ( 613 748- 5683 )
